Home For The Years To Come

Welcome to Montview! This 17 year old condo was given a revamp by its owners who had been living in this 1,600 sq. ft., four bedroom apartment, for over a decade.

The brief was straightforward - To modernize the interiors while accommodating and personalizing to the requirement of the homeowners. Having lived in the apartment over a decade meant that the clients were clear on what worked, what’s needed, what’s not and what to avoid. The specifications were concise, drawn directly from personal experience and years of daily usage, now updated to their current and upcoming phases of life.

The interior is bathed with neutral tones, gently accented by the tranquility of turquoise shades complementing the sense of airiness around the open layout which looks into the kitchen. The abode is naturally lit by the natural light from the balcony, casting a gentle radiant glow onto the furniture and the special effects paint on the ceiling.

Personalized Quarters

Through the passage of time, its natural that we collect memorabilia from life events, travels, children etc. Insufficient storage became a real issue too. With this, the real challenge is increasing storage areas without looking cluttered, cramped yet still maintaining the sense of openness and spatial luxury.

Aside from the increased wardrobe spaces and vanity area, increased storage areas were introduced through the platform, designed with steps that doubles up as drawers. The bay window has been incorporated as a part of the customized cabinetry, used as additional storage areas while neatly framing up the window panels.

The result is a neat, uncluttered, streamlined look that is further enhanced by the linear indirect lighting incorporated in the cabinetry.
